Asthma

What is Asthma?

Asthma is a common lung condition that causes occasional breathing difficulties.

It affects people of all ages and often starts in childhood, although it can also develop for the first time in adults.

There’s currently no cure, but there are simple treatments that can help keep the symptoms under control so it doesn’t have a big impact on your life.

Symptoms

The main symptoms of asthma are:

● Wheezing (a whistling sound when breathing) ● Breathlessness ● A tight chest, which may feel like a band is tightening around it ● Coughing

The symptoms can sometimes get temporarily worse. This is known as an asthma attack.

Several conditions can cause similar symptoms, so it’s important to get a proper diagnosis and correct treatment.

Your GP will usually be able to diagnose asthma by asking about symptoms and carrying out some simple tests.

Treatments

The main types are:

● Reliever inhalers – used when needed to quickly relieve asthma symptoms (salbutamol) ● Preventer inhalers (steroid) – used every day to prevent asthma symptoms occurring ● Some people also need to take tablets.

Causes and triggers

Asthma is caused by swelling (inflammation) of the breathing tubes that carry air in and out of the lungs. This makes the tubes highly sensitive, so they temporarily narrow.

It may occur randomly or after exposure to a trigger. Common asthma triggers include:

● Allergies – to house dust mites, animal fur or pollen, for example ● Smoke, pollution and cold air ● Exercise ● Infections like colds or flu ● Identifying and avoiding your asthma triggers can help you keep your symptoms under control

For information on how to use this medication, read the instruction booklet that comes with it, and ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking it. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor about your use of this medication in children. Your child's doctor will probably recommend this therapy for other patients as well.

This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as H2-receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the effects of a particular chemical in your body. When your immune system is fighting against an object, your airways are narrow. This narrow airways makes it difficult for you to breathe.

If you're using this medication with a stronghird medication, it may cause side effects, such as shortness of breath, chest pain or tightness, cough, and difficulty in breathing. Talk to your doctor about using this medication together with other medications in your treatment.

To make the most sure that your child's asthma is being treated, your doctor may start you by switching the dose of your other medication and gradually increase the dose. Sometimes this can worsen asthma symptoms.

Be sure to use this medication regularly, even if you feel well. Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. Take it exactly as prescribed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the usual time. Do not take two doses at the same time.

Do not give this medication to a child without first checking with your doctor. He/she may need to adjust your dose based on the results of your regular tests.

For a child to have side effects, your doctor should consider your child's age and the presence of medical conditions that may cause the side effects. A child with breathing problems, bronchospasm, or other breathing problems may develop these symptoms. If your child's asthma does not improve with the use of this medication, or if symptoms worsen after taking other medications, your doctor may recommend switching your medication to a different drug.

To make the most sure that your child's asthma is being treated, your doctor may start you by using 2 inhalations every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Ventolin Inhaler can be used with other medications in your treatment.

For information on how to use this medication with a stronghird medication, read the instruction booklet that comes with it, and ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using it.

These signs need to be sign of a serious illness which you need to be prescribed Ventolin online.

I am a 30-year-old man from Dublin who is taking ProAir (Albuterol HFA) for my asthma. The last time I had asthma, I took Ventolin for three years, but I’m still on Ventolin.

I started taking it two years ago and I noticed that the inhaler started to get used to it and I was getting a lot of air. I’m not sure why, but I have asthma and it’s not getting worse.

I have been taking Ventolin for years and have used it regularly for my asthma. My doctor says it’s a good habit to take it, but I don’t know how to get it. I’ve tried to use it on my feet, on my legs, on my legs and on the back of my neck, but it doesn’t work.

So I’m wondering if there are any special precautions to take if taking Ventolin is necessary for asthma. Should I take it when I’m on a regular basis? Should I take it on an empty stomach, or should I take it on an empty stomach instead of a full stomach?

The good news is that it is not dangerous to take it. But it is not addictive and the Ventolin is no substitute for the usual asthma inhaler.

In my case, it has a long history of use and has been prescribed for a variety of medical conditions. I would like to know if there is a specific way to do this.

In the future I’ll be interested to see if the Ventolin is as safe as regular salbutamol. It is not a good habit to use it for my asthma.

Cathy, MD, PhD, MPH, BS, MS, MS, PharmD, MS, PharmD, FRCPAVIDEO

Thanks for the tip! I was taking Ventolin and I noticed that the inhaler started to get used to it. I took it for three years, but I’m still on Ventolin.

I am taking Ventolin to treat my asthma, so I’ll be interested to know if there are special precautions I should take while taking it. Also, I’ll be taking it regularly, so I can take it as needed, if needed. My doctor recommends that I take it with food.

I’ll update this as more information becomes available. Please be sure to take care of yourself and don’t stop taking your Ventolin.

Diane, MD, MPH, BS, MS, PharmD, PharmD, FRCPA

Thanks for sharing your information. I’ve been taking Ventolin for about two years now. I’ve been using it for about 4-6 years now. I’ve noticed that it’s no longer working.

My doctor has prescribed it for my asthma and my other symptoms as well. I’m not sure what to do. Any advice?

Kris, MD, MPH, BS, PharmD, PharmD, FRCPA

My doctor told me that I should take Ventolin at least two weeks before I needed to take it, so I have to wait 2-3 weeks before taking it. He has said that it’s better than no Ventolin before the first day of taking it. He said that I should take it every day, even if it doesn’t work at first.

Do you think it’s safe to take Ventolin during the day for asthma?

Yes. If you take the Ventolin for two weeks before the first day of your asthma, you should take it daily. There are some exceptions, but this is a long time commitment and may not be necessary.

Do you think this is the safest method for taking Ventolin?

The answer to the question “yes” is no. The Ventolin is safe for me and I am still taking it regularly, even if it doesn’t work at first. I have used the Ventolin for about three years now. If it works, it’s not dangerous to take it.

Please be aware that there are different brands of Ventolin available, and if you are unsure about what you need to take, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
